Departing Barcelona star agrees deal to reunite with Cesc Fàbregas in Italy | OneFootball

A recently-departed member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has agreed to take his talents to Italy, with Serie A newcomers Como.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Sergi Roberto as the player in question.

Spanish international Roberto is of course available as a free agent at present, following the expiration of his contract with the aforementioned Barca.

A whole host of clubs from across the continent are understood to have expressed an interest in his services at one point or another during the summer, amid the widespread consensus that the 32-year-old still has plenty to offer.

And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, one such outfit have beaten out the competition to his signing.

As per transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Sergi Roberto has reached a definitive agreement with Cesc Fàbregas’ Como, to join the club as a free agent.

The versatile midfielder, who can also operate at full-back, is set to put pen to paper on a two-year contract, featuring the option for a third.

He joins the likes of Pepe Reina, Nico Páz, Alberto Moreno, Andrea Belotti and Raphaël Varane in penning terms with an ambitious Como this summer.
