La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés have on Friday tied up a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks.
The player all set to take his talents to Mendizorrotza? Toni Martínez.
For those not familiar with his name, Martínez is a 27-year-old attacker, who generally lines out in a centre-forward role.
The Spaniard is a former youth international with La Roja, and has spent spells on the books of the likes of Valencia, West Ham United, and Real Valladolid.
Most recently, though, Martínez has been plying his trade with Portuguese giants Porto, for the last four seasons.
Across the 2023/24 campaign, the Murcia native notched four goals across 20 appearances in Liga Portugal.
And such exploits, evidently, proved enough to convince the brass at the aforementioned Alavés that Martínez is ready to contribute back in his home country once more.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Alavés have agreed [a] deal with Porto for Toni Martínez, package worth €2m. Final details being sorted on sell-on clause as Porto will keep a percentage on [any] future sale.’
