Deportivo de La Coruña have welcomed back Yeremay Hernández after nearly three months out, days before hosting Valencia at Riazor.

According to Superdeporte, the winger has trained normally in recent sessions and joins the squad for Monday’s trip to La Rosaleda, ahead of Sunday’s LaLiga matchday 3 meeting with Carlos Corberán’s side. Valencia will come into it after facing Betis on Tuesday and a subdued home opener against Celta on Saturday.

Diagnosed with pubalgia in March, he played no part in pre-season and missed the league opener against Elche. Coach Antonio Hidalgo said his progress over the past week has been significant and that he plans to involve him against Málaga, Valencia and then Villarreal.

Hidalgo called the return an important boost and said Yeremay looks happy and focused despite recent noise over his future.

Hull City and Brighton have shown interest, but Deportivo insist no formal offer has arrived and the club do not intend to negotiate unless the player asks to go. Hidalgo added that the ideal scenario would be a transfer window that ends when the league starts, and, barring any setback in Málaga, Yeremay could make his first top-flight minutes there and push for a bigger role against Valencia as he builds rhythm.
