Derby County have made a solid start to the summer transfer window, but there is still plenty of time to go.

All three of the newly promoted sides look like they have at least an alright chance of surviving the drop back down to League One next season.

The Rams have certainly had adding attacking firepower at the forefront of their plans since they clinched promotion by beating Carlisle United 2-0 on the final day of the 2023/24 third tier campaign.

Dwight Gayle and Martyn Waghorn have been replaced by Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates, and they have also found someone to fill the void left by Louie Sibley, who has joined Oxford United.

Ben Osborn - Derby's first summer signing - is that man.

There's still some more to come from Paul Warne and County though, over the next few weeks or so before the Championship season starts, and Football League World has collated all the latest news on players that have been linked with joining the club.

Kenzo Goudmijn deal expected soon

Derby's Dutch midfield transfer target Kenzo Goudmijn is expected to officially join the club soon, following a successful medical with the Rams, as per Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke.

Journalist Ian Baker has said that they will pay AZ Alkmaar £600,000 for the 22-year-old.

They reportedly tried to get Icelandic creative midfielder Stefán Teitur Thórdarson, but he now looks set to join Preston North End for €700,000 (just under £600,000).

Goudmijn is set to sign a multi-year deal with the club, according to Voetbal Primeur. He only registered two assists in 26 Eredivisie appearances last season, but he created seven big chances, as per Sofascore.

Potential move for Mathew Ryan

The same outlet that reported the Dutch midfielder's multi-year deal has said that, after rejecting multiple contract offers from AZ, former Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mathew Ryan is reported to be on the verge of signing for County.

Warne elected to let go of golden glove-winning shot-stopper Joe Wildsmith after the end of the season, when his contract expired, and Derby are still yet to find a new glovesman to fill his shoes. They do have Josh Vickers still in the building, but he is the only senior keeper in the current squad.

VP believed that the Australian international is set to follow Goudmijn to Pride Park, following a one-and-a-half-year stint with the Dutch club, as the Rams land their Joe Wildsmith replacement.

Transfer battle with Swansea for striker

Derby transfer target Adama Sidibeh is being pursued by Swansea City as they push to find forward options. Alan Nixon has reported that they are going ahead with their pursuit of the 26-year-old, who has a £500,000 fixed clause in his contract with St Johnstone – having only joined the Scottish club in the winter from Northern Premier League side Warrington Rylands.

Prior to this news, The Courier said that the Saints hadn't yet received any offers for the striker, who has been linked with County, alongside the likes of Burnley and Middlesbrough, by Football Insider.

This was reported in late May, so whether they would make a move for a forward now that Yates, who has joined from Swansea on loan, and Jackson have arrived at Pride Park, plus the fact that James Collins agreed new terms with the club this summer, remains to be seen.
