This is according to Derby County News, who have also reported that the Rams are unlikely to make any permanent signings during the winter window.

Paul Warne's side have made a fairly decent start to the season, sitting in 12th place ahead of this afternoon's round of Championship fixtures.

Facing Stoke City away in one of the early kick-offs, they will be keen to secure at least a point from this match at the bet365 Stadium, against a side that have struggled for much of the campaign under Steven Schumacher and Narcis Pelach.

Even if they can't secure a point or three, it may not be the end of the world for Paul Warne's side, whose main aim may be to stay in the second tier.

Having spent two seasons in League One, establishing themselves as a second-tier club again will be important and they are currently on course to do that, though they need to follow their respectable start to the season with some more positive results in the coming months.

The next two months will be a particularly high priority for them, and after that, they will have the opportunity to strengthen their squad during the Janaury window.

At this stage though, it doesn't look as though they will enjoy an exciting winter window.

Derby County's current plans ahead of January transfer window revealed

The East Midlands side managed to make quite a few shrewd additions during the summer window.

At this stage, Derby's hierarchy are reportedly happy with where they are and the Rams' start to the season has exceeded their expectations.

And according to Derby County News, they are not expected to do a huge amount in January and at this point, it doesn't look likely that they will make any further permanent additions this season.

They may look at the loan market and look to recruit a player on a temporary deal, but it doesn't look as though they will be busy.

Derby County should keep an open mind ahead of January

Scoring 15 goals and conceding 15 goals in their opening 12 league games of the season, they are in a fairly stable position at both ends of the pitch.

However, they have to keep an open mind ahead of the January window.

Results could change in the next couple of months and injuries may also come into play, so there may be a need to address certain areas.

The forward area is one that may need to be looked at, depending on the performances of their current attackers.

Former Ipswich Town man Kayden Jackson could be a real asset in the coming months, but if he can't score regularly, another attacking player may be needed to ensure they retain their place in this division.
