Derby interested in signing Amine Bassi on a free transfer | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Derby County are interested in signing Moroccan playmaker Amine Bassi (28) on a free transfer. The attacking midfielder is available to sign as a free agent after recently departing Houston Dynamo after the respective parties failed to reach an agreement in contract negotiations. 

Bassi is keen on a potential return to Europe and would be interested in joining the EFL Championship side. The 28-year-old impressed during his time in the MLS. Whilst representing the Texan outfit, he won the U.S Open Cup, scored 21 goals and registered 18 assists.  

Bassi to return to England and sign for Derby?

The Moroccan international attacking midfielder is no stranger to football in England. He previously played in the English second division with Barnsley, scoring 2 goals and registering 5 assists in 16 appearances. The former Barnsley playmaker has not played in Europe since he left Metz in 2023.
