Derby County beat Stoke City 2-0 at Pride Park Stadium to nudge the visitors down to 13th in the Championship.

In the 16th minute, Carlton Morris hit the left post from the centre of the box as Derby pressed.

An enforced change before the interval brought on Jaydon Banel, and after the restart the substitute swept in from the centre of the box (54.), set up by Morris.

Gavin Bazunu kept Stoke in it by saving Ben Brereton Díaz's close-range effort (64.). Moments later, Bobby Clark struck the left post as Derby pushed for a cushion.

Morris sealed it with a right-footed finish from the centre of the area (89.), laid on by Clark.

Derby tallied 20 attempts and hit the woodwork twice. Stoke City failed to register a shot on target from seven attempts.

Derby visit Southampton next. Stoke City host Blackburn Rovers.
