Didier Deschamps has given France a night off in Boston on Wednesday, three days before their World Cup last-16 against Paraguay in Philadelphia. According to L'Équipe, the break comes the day after the 3-0 win over Sweden.

Deschamps is managing the squad’s social time in line with the competition’s length and performances. After Tuesday’s win in New York, an ensuing session focused mainly on the substitutes.

The players had already enjoyed time with friends and family after the 3-1 opening victory over Senegal, then again following the group stage, in a longer window that included a brunch at their base, the Four Seasons in central Boston.

France will train on Thursday afternoon at Bentley University, again in high temperatures. They are scheduled to travel to Philadelphia on Friday.

The last-16 tie against Paraguay kicks off at 17.00 local time on Saturday, 23.00 in France.
