The Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain must have hit Harry Kane hard in sporting terms, but the Bayern striker still achieved a remarkable milestone in the 1-1 draw in the semi-final second leg. With his late goal, the Englishman set a historic record that only Cristiano Ronaldo had previously achieved
Even if the goal was not enough to secure a place in the final, Harry Kane once again proved his exceptional quality in the Champions League. The Englishman scored in stoppage time to make it 1-1 against PSG, his sixth consecutive knockout game in the top flight
A run that even Kane had never managed before – and which is a rarity in the history of the Champions League
The Bayern striker is only the second player ever to score at least one goal in six consecutive Champions League knockout matches
Previously, only Cristiano Ronaldo had achieved this feat, having set this impressive mark in a Real Madrid shirt between 2012 and 2013
The fact that Kane now appears in the same statistics as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner once again underlines his enormous consistency at the highest international level
What is particularly remarkable is that the Englishman often only needs a few clear-cut actions to become dangerous, as was once again demonstrated against PSG when Kane made the most of his late chance

Kane has now scored a total of 14 goals in 13 Champions League games for FC Bayern. The 32-year-old has scored six goals in his last five appearances in the top flight alone
Kane has scored in each of his five knockout games this season, in addition to his goal from the previous season in the quarter-final second leg against Inter Milan
The Englishman’s individual figures remain outstanding, with Kane now on 55 goals for FC Bayern in all competitions
Despite the historic mark, the attacker’s disappointment probably prevailed after the final whistle. After the spectacular quarter-final victory against Real Madrid, FC Bayern had high hopes of triumphing in the premier class
The Munich side once again proved their morale against PSG, battling back from 5-2 down in the first leg and showing throughout both games that they are absolutely capable of keeping up with Europe’s top teams
For Kane, the realization remains that they have once again delivered at the highest level – even if the big dream of winning the Champions League title with FC Bayern will have to wait for the time being.
