Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Vincent Euvrard is set to take over from Timmy Simons as head coach of FCV Dender. The latter, having helped Dender to an unlikely promotion, is set to join Westerlo for the upcoming season. Euvrard was in charge of Zulte Waregem, one of the favourites for promotion. However, they were unable to win in the play-offs and will remain in the Belgian second tier for another season.
Euvrard had started the 2023/2024 season in charge of RWDM after gaining promotion to the Pro League. However, John Textor decided to change course just days before the star of the season, with Euvrard being sacked before a ball had been kicked. He ended up back in the second tier but was, despite a good start, unable to lead Zulte Waregem back to the top tier at the first time of asking.
Yet with Simons off to Westerlo, Evurard will get his chance in the top flight next season after all.
