FC Bayern is already looking ahead to potential signings for next summer. In the process, an old acquaintance is apparently coming back into focus: Luka Vuskovic.
The Croatian center back was linked to the German record champions on several occasions during his time with Hamburger SV. Vuskovic now plays for Brighton & Hove Albion, but that hasn’t seemingly dampened Munich’s interest.
As reported by fussball-news.de, Bayern continues to closely monitor the defender’s progress. Vuskovic could become an attractive option for the Munich club, particularly with an eye toward the summer of 2027.
The development of Bayern’s own roster is likely to be the decisive factor in any potential move by the club. In particular, Minjae Kim’s future remains uncertain.
A decision on the South Korean’s future is not expected until later in the season. Should Kim leave Munich in the summer, Bayern would likely have to look for a new center back. Vuskovic is said to be among the players they are generally interested in.

The interest in the Croatian comes as no surprise. Even during his time at HSV, there were reports that Bayern were a potential suitor. The record champions appear not to have lost sight of Vuskovic even after his move to the Premier League.
However, Munich is by no means the only top European club keeping an eye on the center back. Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, and Liverpool FC are also said to be interested in him.
The biggest problem for Bayern Munich is likely to be the transfer fee anyway. Vuskovic only moved to Brighton last summer for just under 55 million euros and is under contract there for the long term. Accordingly, the Premier League club is under no pressure to sell.
If Brighton were to even consider a resale, a new record transfer fee in the hundreds of millions would be required, according to fussball-news.de.
For Bayern, such a figure for a center back would be hard to imagine. While Vuskovic has enormous potential and has long caught the attention of numerous top clubs, a transfer to Munich for more than 100 million euros seems highly unrealistic at this point.
Much will therefore depend on how the situation develops between now and next summer. Should Kim leave and Brighton become more open to discussing their financial demands, Vuskovic could become a more concrete prospect for FC Bayern.
Until then, the Croatian remains one thing above all else: a highly intriguing prospect whose development the Munich club continues to monitor very closely.
