Dest crowns rout late as visitors rise to second | OneFootball

PSV crushed Utrecht 6-1 at Stadion Galgenwaard to climb to second in the Eredivisie.

In the sixth minute Artem Stepanov swept Utrecht ahead from close range after Niklas Vesterlund's pass. Ruben van Bommel levelled (11.) and Guus Til headed the Boeren in front on the stroke of half time (45.) from a Sergiño Dest cross.

Matej Kovar was rarely tested, facing just one effort on target as the Boeren controlled the game. Vasilis Barkas kept the score down with seven saves before the late avalanche.

After Peter Bosz introduced Paul Wanner and Esmir Bajraktarević (65.), the visitors stretched the hosts. Mauro Júnior then bent a free kick inside the far post (76.) to make it three.

Wanner won a late penalty, Barkas was booked, and Sven Mijnans struck the left post from the spot (86.). Moments later Mijnans arrowed into the top corner from distance (86.) to kill the contest.

Til finished a fast break for his second (88.) from Amir Bouhamdi's through ball, before Dest lashed in from the centre of the box in the third minute of second half stoppage time.

The Boeren racked up 30 attempts, with 14 on target, and forced 13 corners. Utrecht mustered one attempt and no corners as their resistance faded.
