Barcelona and Real Madrid will each be heading to the United States later this summer as part of their respective pre-season schedules. The two tend to meet for a “friendly” match during their time stateside, and 2024 is no different.
It was announced a few months ago that another pre-season Clasico, which will be Hansi Flick’s first taste of the fixture as Barcelona manager, would be taking place, with the one at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The exact date and time for the occasion has now been confirmed, as per Diario AS – it is scheduled for the 4th of August at 1am CET (7pm local time on the 3rd).
The game could be a good barometer to see how the two teams stack up against each other going into the new season, but then again, maybe not considering that Barcelona won last summer’s fixture by an emphatic 3-0 scoreline – it was the only time they defeated Real Madrid across the 2023-24 campaign, as Los Blancos won every other meeting, as winning as collecting the La Liga and Champions League titles.
