An insight into the complicated terms of the financial agreement reached between La Liga outfit Girona and Manchester United over the transfer of Donny van de Beek has been forthcoming online.
The name of midfielder Van de Beek has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain across the day to date.
This comes after the Dutchman’s long-rumoured move to the aforementioned Girona was at long last made official.
As revealed in a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Catalans, Van de Beek has put pen to paper on terms with the club through the summer of 2028:
‘Donny Van de Beek will be a new Girona FC player for the next four seasons. The Club and Manchester United have reached a transfer agreement for the Dutch midfielder.’
Just how much, though, have Girona agreed to pay for their latest midfield addition?
An insight into as much has since been provided, courtesy of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
With Van de Beek fresh off a series of underwhelming seasons blighted by injury and lack of form, the brass at the Estadi Montilivi, off the bat, will be required to fork over just €500,000 to Manchester United.
‘Easily’ activated add-ons amounting to €4/5 million will then follow, with a further €10/15 million also potentially up for grabs for United, in the case of their departing engine room star thoroughly excelling in Girona’s colours.
