La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have on Friday announced a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.
The player in question? Sergio Gómez.
Defender Gómez has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines in San Sebastian for several weeks now.
As much comes after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Sociedad, amid their search for reinforcements at left-back, had identified the Spaniard as their leading target.
Negotiations, in turn, were kicked into gear with Premier League champions Manchester City, over the terms of a deal.
And, this week, an agreement between the parties was struck.
As per an official statement across the website and social media platforms of La Real, Gómez has put pen to paper on terms with the club through the summer of 2030.
So, just how much did the board at Anoeta, in the end, agree to fork over to Man City?
As revealed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, following lengthy discussions, a fee of €10 million, including add-ons, was deemed as agreeable.
The Sky Blues also secured for themselves a 30% sell-on clause as part of the deal.
