Portsmouth beat Charlton Athletic 3-1 at The Valley on Tuesday night to climb from 21st to 19th in the Championship.
Terry Devlin opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, driving in from outside the box after Ebou Adams' pass. Colby Bishop doubled the lead from the spot (35.) after a handball by Amari Bell.
After the restart, Devlin struck again from range (56.) to tighten Portsmouth's grip. Half time substitute Jayden Fevrier replied with a neat finish from Lyndon Dykes' headed lay-off (64.), his first goal for Charlton since joining in January.
Charlton rolled the dice at the break with a triple change, and Fevrier's introduction sparked their best spell, including a dangerous cross that Dykes headed wide late on. Portsmouth's back line, marshalled by Regan Poole and Connor Ogilvie, saw out the closing stages.
Portsmouth posted 54.5% possession and hit six shots on target from 12 attempts. Charlton registered 12 attempts, with four on target.
Charlton remain 18th. Next, Portsmouth visit Millwall, while Charlton travel to Southampton.
