Nicolas Jackson has been given a two-match ban after his sending off in Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen. He will miss Bundesliga fixtures against Union Berlin on Saturday and SC Freiburg on 4 April.

The DFB confirmed on Monday that the suspension is for violent conduct following the weekend match.

Jackson was shown a red card towards the end of the first half for a reckless challenge on Leverkusen’s Martin Terrier, who was substituted at half-time.

Luis Diaz was also dismissed during the game and will be sidelined for one match.

Bayern appealed Jackson’s punishment, but their challenge was rejected.
