According to Deutschen Presse-Agentur, the DFB plans to honour former Germany internationals Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gündoğan next month.
Müller, Gündoğan, and Neuer recently retired from international football whilst Kroos hung up his boots for good after Euro 2024.
The DFB plans to honour all four players for their services to the national team during Germany’s Nations League game against the Netherlands on October 14th in the Allianz Arena.
Combined, the quartet have played for Germany a staggering 451 times across friendlies and international tournaments.
Neuer, Müller, and Kroos were a part of Germany’s 2014 World Cup winning squad whilst Gündoğan captained his country at last summer’s European Championships which were held in Germany.
It’s not yet clear how the DFB plans to honour their former stars but some form of on-pitch presentation prior to the game against the Netherlands is likely to take place.
