Di Gregorio already out of Juventus squad ahead of Vicario arrival | OneFootball

Michele Di Gregorio will not take part in Juventus’s final pre-season friendly of the summer as he has not been named in the matchday squad for Monday’s internal friendly against the Next Gen side ahead of the imminent arrival of Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

An agreement has been reached between Juventus and Tottenham for the transfer of goalkeeper Vicario, who is set to join the Bianconeri on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy for €8m plus bonuses according to reports from various outlets on Monday.

Vicario is expected to fly over to Turin on Monday for his medical and contract signing.

His arrival is the beginning of the end of Di Gregorio’s reign as the Juventus no.1. The 29-year-old, who has spent the last two seasons with the Bianconeri, failed to impress over the course of the 2026-27 campaign and it has been clear throughout the summer transfer window that Juventus have been looking to upgrade.

Juve had been in negotiations for Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez before striking a deal with Tottenham for Vicario.

As for Di Gregorio, reports from Fabrizio Romano claim that he has been offered to Ligue 1 side Marseille on loan for the 2026-27 season as well as one other club abroad.

He had reportedly been struggling with flu-like symptoms earlier this week, and has not been named in the Juventus squad for Monday’s internal friendly against the Next Gen side at the Allianz Stadium.
