Brest beat Le Havre 2-0 at Francis-Le Blé to extend their unbeaten run to six, Junior Diaz outstanding as the visitors failed to register a shot on target. According to L'Équipe, Brest have now won six of their last seven Ligue 1 home games.
Diaz, on a fifth straight start with Brendan Chardonnet, won seven of 10 duels and made eight clearances, blocking shots on 18 and 23 minutes. Boufal curled a left-footed effort wide on 44 before Kenny Lala sent Romain Del Castillo through to lob Mory Diaw at 45+2.
Del Castillo then found Rémy Labeau-Lascary on 71 minutes, the forward teeing up Ludovic Ajorque for his seventh of the season and fifth in five. Enzo Koffi was passive against Ajorque for the second.
Kenny Quetant, 19, on his fourth Ligue 1 start, won two duels and skied his sole chance on 55, then went off for Ally Samatta on 64, the Tanzanian spurning a big opening on 88. Boufal delivered six crosses before making way for Reda Khadra on 81. Ajorque was replaced by Pathé Mboup on 90+2.
Diaw’s last clean sheet was on seven December. He starred against PSG eight days earlier in a 0-1 defeat but misjudged Del Castillo’s lob here and was helpless for the second. Lala, 34, defended soundly and made eight recoveries, though he lost the ball 21 times.
