Nathaniel Brown is still under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt. But the left-footed player is considered a top target for FC Bayern, and talks are at an advanced stage. A 2014 World Cup hero has now praised Brown.

That player is Mario Götze. The scorer of the winning goal in the 2014 final against Argentina currently plays alongside Brown in Frankfurt and sees him every day in training. That’s why the former Bayern player is particularly well-positioned to assess Brown’s abilities.

That’s why it’s no real surprise to Götze that the Frankfurt star is currently making a splash at the World Cup in a DFB jersey.

Götze is full of praise for Brown

Brown has “done a pretty good job” so far, Götze gushed during a visit to the German House of Soccer, a fan club in New York. The player, who is likely to soon become a Bayern Munich signing, is “a good player” and “a good guy.” Götze said he’s incredibly happy for Brown.

Brown, who even scored a goal in the first World Cup match against Curaçao, will have to sit out the third group stage match against Ecuador but will be available again afterward.

The question that remains: When will his transfer to FC Bayern be finalized? A final agreement between the Hessian club and the record champions is still pending. However, there is still no indication that the deal is in any way in jeopardy.

It comes down to minor details, but these could have a major impact on the deal’s payment structure. That’s why patience is still required, especially since several decision-makers at FC Bayern need to coordinate their positions, even regarding minimal changes to the offer structure.

Brown wants to join the record champions, has turned down other offers, and is waiting for an agreement. Since he’s at the World Cup anyway, this isn’t a test of patience for him.
