Luís Castro faces another absentee for Grêmio’s Brasileirão meeting with Chapecoense on Sunday, as right-back Diego Caito has suffered a left shoulder injury in Gre-Nal 453. According to Globo.com, midfielder Noriega is also out, suspended after his third yellow card.

Pavon could again be used at full-back, which would free a spot on the right of the attack. In midfield, Danilo Barbosa might make his first start as he looks to regain match rhythm.

After the Gre-Nal at Beira-Rio, Castro signalled he may rotate due to fatigue and a decisive derby next Thursday at the Arena. He said the squad will be assessed by the medical staff, then those in the best condition will play.

Centre-back Gustavo Martins, now over a muscle oedema, could return. Marlon, Villasanti and Carlos Vinícius, recently managed, might be given a rest depending on fitness checks.

The likely Grêmio XI to face Chape is: Weverton, Pavon, Wallace, Kannemann (Gustavo Martins) and Marlon, Danilo Barbosa, Villasanti and Krovinovic (Gabriel Mec), Jovane Cabral (Amuzu), Enamorado and Carlos Vinicius (Braithwaite).

The squad worked on Friday morning in the CT Luiz Carvalho gym and reviewed video with the staff. The final session is scheduled for Saturday morning, with kick-off on Sunday at 18:30 at the Arena.
