Diego López begins his long road back after a ruptured ACL, and is probably sidelined until 2027.

According to AS, the Asturian visited the Paterna training complex to meet club medics and finalise the treatment plan for his knee.

With the season over, activity at Paterna is limited, and injured pair Foulquier and Diakhaby are in the final phase of their recoveries.

He is due to undergo surgery in the coming days on the anterior cruciate ligament in his right leg, an injury sustained during the match against Barça. A decision on where to operate is expected today, and indications point to Valencia as he is with his family.

López is intent on returning as soon as possible. He has accepted that several demanding months of work lie ahead before he can play again.
