Valencia’s preparations for Sunday’s meeting with Osasuna brought mixed news, with Diego López back in full training while Lucas Beltrán was absent and could miss out. Both players sat out the match at La Cerámica.
After skipping Monday’s session and with Tuesday a rest day, this morning’s workout offered a first read on their recovery with fewer than five days to go. Radio Marca Valencia reports that López trained with a knee bandage and still felt some discomfort.
Even so, Corberán had the boost of the Asturian rejoining the group after missing both derbies. He is pushing to be available and is vying for the left flank with Largie Ramazani, who scored against Levante UD, the best goal of the month, and against Villarreal, so he is likely to keep his place with López an option from the bench.
The downbeat note was Beltrán’s continued absence from the session, which means he could miss another game. The Argentine has been among Valencia’s standout performers since the introduction of an attacking midfielder in recent weeks.
If Beltrán does not fully recover in time, Javi Guerra is in line to cover the most creative role in the midfield three against Osasuna.
