Liverpool are facing an attacking shakeup this summer.
The priority remains bringing in some quality one-v-one forwards out wide. Bradley Barcola has been in the club’s crosshairs even since Yan Diomande turned down the chance to move to Anfield.
With Paris Saint-Germain looking for £145m however a deal is not going to be easy. And of course an inbound deal for the 23-year-old France international is likely to be contingent on attackers moving out.
Mohamed Salah has left the club - having reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early. And he could be joined in the departures column by Cody Gakpo - with Liverpool prepared to accept the right bid for the £250k per week forward.
Another player whose future would appear to be up in the air is Federico Chiesa. The 28-year-old moved to Anfield in 2024 for around £12.5m from Juventus but it’s fair to say his time on Merseyside has been a disappointment.
Under contract until 2028 the £150k per week winger has been continually linked with the exit - and teams in Serie A are known to be keen.
A report in Foot Mercato names Como, Fiorentina, Roma and Napoli as potentially being interested in bringing the Italian international home.
Cost would certainly be a factor for clubs in Serie A however - given Chiesa’s high wage and Liverpool’s demands for a fee.
The same report is now also claiming that Atletico Madrid have made their move for the wide man - with Diego Simeone thought to be a long-term admirer.

“Atlético Madrid has made its move and continues to target Federico Chiesa. Diego Simeone has long admired his profile, but this option has remained contingent on other attacking moves by the Madrid club,” the report reads.
However with Chiesa playing a full part in preseason thus far it would appear he is content to stay and fight for his place at Anfied.
“Chiesa has never hidden his desire to continue his adventure at Liverpool,” the report reads. “Internally, this desire is common knowledge. He feels fulfilled in his environment, appreciates the club and the English league, and wants to convince Andoni Iraola that he deserves a more prominent role in the squad rotation.”
Liverpool have added Victor Munoz on a £34m deal from Osasuna but currently lack the big-ticket right-wing option they so desperately desire.
With Jeremie Frimpong earmarked for a wing role under Iraola - and Chiesa looking the part - the solutions may well come from inside the squad if Barcola isn’t landed before the start of the season.
