Digital ticketing: TAPs requirements for Chelsea

Brentford’s next Premier League match against Chelsea at Gtech Community Stadium will be the first Category A* fixture of the season.

As outlined before the start of the season in our 2025/26 ticket process, there will be Ticket Access Points (TAPs) requirements in place for this fixture for fans purchasing tickets and forwarding tickets within their friends and family network.

For Brentford v Chelsea on Saturday 13 September (kick-off 8pm BST), the following requirements are in effect:

Season ticket and premium seat holders can forward their season ticket to anyone within their friends and family network who meets the on-sale eligibility criteria (i.e. to a member with 100+ TAPs)

These TAPs requirements will be in place for all Category A* Premier League home fixtures this season. All match categorisations were reviewed and agreed with fan groups prior to the start of the season.

This season’s Category A* fixtures are:

Chelsea, Saturday 13 September
Manchester United, Saturday 27 September
Liverpool, Saturday 25 October
Arsenal, Wednesday 11 February

Fixture dates are subject to change with broadcast selection. TAPs thresholds for all Premier League games may be altered based on security advice or scheduling changes.

If you’re a season ticket or premium seat holder who can’t attend a home game and you’re not forwarding your ticket for the fixture, you should list your ticket on the ticket exchange a soon as possible to give another fan the opportunity to attend, and to avoid receiving a yellow card under our Every Seat Counts policy.

List your ticket seven days before the fixture or earlier and you’ll receive a guaranteed pro rata credit refund in your account later in the season. Find out how to use the ticket exchange on our website.

Why do we have TAPs requirements for high-demand home fixtures?

TAPs requirements are an important part of how we fight ticket touting. Adding restrictions on who can purchase, or receive forwarded tickets, helps protect tickets that are meant for Brentford fans falling into rival supporters’ hands. This is also supported by our new digital ticketing system that makes it easier for the club to identify touts and revoke their access, helping to ensure that we keep home areas for home fans only.
TAPs requirements reward members that regularly attend games. High-demand games are likely to sell out, and we want to make sure that members who regularly attend games have the opportunity to see Brentford play in the high-profile games. TAPs requirements fairly reward fans with access to tickets and are consistent with our five-year rolling TAPs policy.
