Dijon have moved to safeguard their women’s side, which has been under threat at professional level for months. The academy has also been at risk.

The club said in a statement that it entered exclusive negotiations on Friday 22 May with a leading partner to secure the future of women’s football in Dijon.

The plan involves a proposed majority investment in SAS DFCO Féminines to build a European reference platform, aiming both to accelerate the women’s game and to extend the club’s long-running youth development policy.

The women’s training centre is to be fully maintained, and all youth teams are to remain at the highest national levels. Yet in recent days, parents were told via a WhatsApp message that the centre would close and be replaced by a sports section.

DFCO and the prospective partner are already working together to prepare for the DNCG hearing and to complete administrative formalities. In parallel, an ambitious sporting project for the Arkema Première Ligue first team is well advanced, with initial agreements concluded.
