After the 2-0 Libertadores win over Santa Fe, speaking at Neo Química Arena, Fernando Diniz praised the environment at CT Joaquim Grava. He hailed the appointment of former goalkeeper Julio Cesar as football manager and said the squad feels shielded.

According to Meu Timao, Diniz highlighted the leadership of new football executive Marcelo Paz and the integration of Thiago Ayres and Julio Manso in the administrative and logistics areas during his first week in charge. He welcomed Julio Cesar’s return as an important addition to the dressing room.

The club reshaped its backroom at the turn of the year with Paz arriving from Fortaleza, followed by Ayres and Manso to oversee operations. Julio Cesar, an academy graduate and multiple title winner, came back after scouting manager Renan Bloise departed. His appointment was confirmed days after organised fans issued harsher demands, with Corinthians ending a run of nine games without a win last week and now three unbeaten.

Diniz said the group are focused on protecting what they can control, accepting that external noise is beyond their reach. He added the players feel protected to do their work and pursue results on the pitch.

Off the field, turbulence continues at Parque São Jorge. On Wednesday, Leonardo Pantaleão, acting president of the Deliberative Council, forwarded to the Ethics and Discipline Committee an impeachment request filed by councillors and associates against Osmar Stabile, president of the board.

The shielding around their Libertadores campaign could fuel a return to winning ways in the Brasileirão. Corinthians visit Vitória at Barradão on Saturday at 20:00 in the 12th round.
