Fernando Diniz is working on Corinthians' attack during the World Cup break, and Kaio César is expected to retain his place. According to Globo.com, the 22-year-old has impressed and is one of the few options to stretch teams in behind.
He seized his chances before the pause and has sustained that form during the interseason, training at CT Joaquim Grava.
The expectation is that he will help push opponents back, sharing with Yuri Alberto a task that is largely the number 9's. He also adds dribbling and pace to broaden the team's attacking repertoire.
Kaio César scored in the 3-1 win at Grêmio in Porto Alegre, the side's final outing of the first half, and he has two assists for Corinthians.
On loan from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia until the end of the year, he could remain if Corinthians pay 6 million euros, about R$ 35.8 million at current rates, for 50% of his rights.
Diniz is using the break to improve attacking efficiency. Since his arrival, the team have scored 20 goals in 16 matches, but they have missed clear chances at decisive moments.
Corinthians return to competitive action on 23 July against Remo at Neo Química Arena in the Campeonato Brasileiro. Before that, they play a friendly against Cascavel on 12 July in Cascavel.
