Werder Bremen have completed the signing of Eren Dinkçi on a season-long loan from SC Freiburg, bringing the winger back to the club where he began his professional career.
“Eren is a great lad and a very good footballer. We’re delighted that he’ll be playing for Werder over the coming year. He’s gained plenty of experience since leaving Bremen and has now made more than 100 Bundesliga appearances," said Werder Bremen head of professional football Peter Niemeyer.
“He’ll be a real asset to the team both on and off the pitch. He's currently still dealing with some muscular problems and may not be available for the games against Lüneburg and Freiburg. He'll continue to build up his fitness this week and is expected to join team training next week. Even so, we have no doubts about the loan deal. Eren is from Bremen and knows the club very well, so he shouldn’t need much time to settle in.”
Dinkçi, who left Werder to join Freiburg in 2024, is delighted to return to his hometown club.
“Bremen is my hometown and this is the club where I became a professional, so I’m really happy to be back playing at the Weserstadion and for Werder. I’m really looking forward to meeting my new teammates and seeing our fans at the first home game. I’ll give everything I have to help Werder have a successful season," he said.
