Diogo Costa ‘to attract’ summer interest, World Cup seen as shop window

As reports that Diogo Costa has cemented Portugal’s number one spot and could draw interest in the summer market.
The Porto goalkeeper featured in Qatar and is preparing to start for Portugal again at the 2026 finals in the United States, Mexico and Canada. He is regarded as an undisputed pick under Roberto Martínez.
He also started throughout the 2025 Nations League finals, which Portugal won. He proved decisive in the final by saving Álvaro Morata’s penalty in the shootout.
In the past, clubs such as PSG and Manchester United showed interest in him. His career is managed by Gestifute, the agency run by Jorge Mendes. This summer could bring a high-profile move, with the World Cup seen as a major shop window.
Costa, 26, has more than 40 caps for Portugal.
