Leeds United could use defensive reinforcement following injuries. The club is considering bringing one through the doors at Elland Road.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea’s Axel Disasi has been floated as a defensive option, and Leeds do have a domestic loan open.

Leeds will be without key man Jaka Bijol for three to five weeks. While alarm bells aren’t exactly ringing, it makes sense to bring in another body.

Disasi has not featured at all for his club this season, training with the reserves as the former manager left him out in the cold.

He has been training to stay fit and secure a move away. The option of Leeds could appeal to the 27-year-old centre-half.

Disasi is an authoritative figure in the air and still carries himself well for a 6ft3ins defender.

He could help make up the numbers at least until the end of the current season.

However, it is worth noting that Disasi has many weaknesses. His reading of the game is poor. He fails to cut out opportunities before they become bigger threats.

Also, he struggles to defend large spaces despite his speed. Thrown into the Chelsea reserves, he did not impress with clips of his defensive errors making the rounds.

If Leeds land Disasi, manager Daniel Farke will be better served throwing him into games where the team has its back against the wall and has to defend in a low block.

Elsewhere, Leeds are trying to secure a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Jorgen Strand Larsen.

It is an ambitious move, but the club believes it can be done, although they will reportedly need to be wary of PSR violations.

The Norwegian will set the Peacocks back by around £40 million, but his league experience and physical profile make him worth the punt.
