According to O Jogo, the disciplinary council of the Portuguese Football Federation has archived FC Porto's complaint against Frederico Varandas. The case concerned remarks he made after Sporting's 4-1 win at Vitória in Guimarães.

The Sporting president spoke in the mixed zone at Estádio D. Afonso Henriques.

He said refereeing had not been independent for decades and had been in the hands of Porto or Benfica.

He claimed there had been 40 years of fruit, wiretaps and masses, and of agents buying players to lose matches.

He also argued the incident involving Hjulmand was not a penalty, adding that people were not ready to see mistakes in Sporting's favour.
