Christopher Nkunku has reportedly made a decision on his future at Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.

The French forward has become unsettled this season following a lack of gametime. Although he has featured heavily in the Blues’ Europa Conference League campaign, he has started just nine times in the Premier League this season.

Reports in January claimed that the 27-year-old was seeking to leave Chelsea in the winter window after being linked with moves to Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

It now appears that Nkunku still wants to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, with Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claiming that “there’s no longer any doubt” about his impending departure.

Talks about a potential exit are said to be “ongoing”, although Chelsea are likely going to have to take a financial hit on the £52 million they paid RB Leipzig to sign him in 2023.

Nkunku, who has four years left on his current contract, has struggled to nail down a starting place in the team due to a combination of injuries and competition for places.

Over the past two seasons he has made 54 appearances in all competitions, but only made 22 starts, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in that time.
