Dispersal order planned for Redditch United v Halesowen Town derby on Bank Holiday | OneFootball

West Mercia Police plan a Section 35 dispersal order across a large part of Redditch on Bank Holiday Monday, covering Redditch United’s derby with Halesowen Town. As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, the measure is being prepared to deter disorder and anti-social behaviour.

The force said supporters and residents will see more officers near The Valley Stadium and the train station on Bromsgrove Road, and around the town centre before, during and after the 3pm kick-off.

Officers are working with both clubs, partner agencies, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police to manage the occasion.

If enacted, the order would run from 11am to 7pm under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014, giving police powers to direct away people involved in, or reasonably believed likely to cause, anti-social behaviour or disorder.

Superintendent Helen Wain said they expect a large crowd, potentially more than 1,000 supporters, and emphasised that most fans attend for the right reasons. She added that the increased presence is to keep people safe and that officers are available to help anyone who needs assistance.
