The on loan star had a social media for his new club after their 3-1 win against Stoke in their first home Championship match of 2026-27.
Southampton's on-loan forward Divin Mubama for his new club after his team kick-started their Championship season at home to Stoke City.
Following a disappointing defeat on the opening weekend of the season at Watford, Southampton got their bid to return to the Premier League up and running with a 3-1 win against Stoke City at St Mary's on Saturday afternoon.
It wasn't a completely straightforward for the Saints. After taking an early lead through Cyle Larin, Stoke pegged them back after 26 minutes with a goal from Ethan Gabraith.
But after that, Southampton had to work for their win, and it took until the 89th minute before substitute Divin Mubama put them into the lead, with a third goal, scored from the penalty spot by Ryan Manning, putting the seal on the win.
The Saints remain bottom of the Championship table on account of the four-point deduction that they received over the Spygate scandal which engulfed last season's divisional play-offs, but after the match Mubama, who joined the club on loan from Manchester City during the summer, had a message for the club's supporters.

Posting to the social media platform Instagram after his team's 3-1 win against Stoke City in the Championship, Southampton's on-loan star Divin Mubama had a clear message for Saints fans.
Above a picture of him celebrating his goal against Stoke was the message, "Rocking at the St Mary's today, let's keep it rollin." Despite the points deduction which ensured that they would remain bottom of the table regardless of the outcome of the Stoke match, there was still a crowd of over 29,000 at St Mary's for this match.
The goal will have been extra sweet for Mubama because it came against one of his former clubs. He signed on loan for Stoke City on a season-long loan from Manchester City at the start of the 2025-26 season, and scored five goals for them in 26 Championship appearances before a leg injury curtailed his stay in the Potteries, and he was forced to return to The Etihad Stadium.
Mubama completed his loan move to Southampton on the 11th August and made his debut as a substitute for Cyle Larin during their defeat at Watford. He was on the bench for this match too, replacing Larin with 12 minutes to play and then chipping in with his all-important first goal for his new club.

Divin Mubama's goal for Southampton against Stoke City has got a lot of people talking. Here's a selection of what's been said about their loanee forward.
This Stoke fan is struck by the irony of the fact that Mubama had a goal drought before the injury that brought his stay at Stoke to an early end, only for him to score against them at the start of the following season:
This Southampton fan feels that an early goal for his new club will do him the world of good:
The Saints Extra fan account wanted to draw attention to Finn Azaz's assist for the goal:
And this Manchester City fan feels that Mubama should have been with the City first-team squad this season:

Divin Mubama has a history of scoring early for clubs once he signs for them. A product of the West Ham United academy he made his senior debut for them in their away match against the Romanian side FCSB in Bucharest in November 2022, heading their second goal in a 3-0 win on off a defender's leg, although this was formally awarded as an own goal.
Mubama's progress caught the eye of Manchester City, and he made a £2 million switch to The Etihad Stadium in August 2024. The following January, he made his debut for them in the FA Cup Third Round and scored their second goal in an 8-0 thrashing of Salford CIty.
The following summer, Mubama was on his way to the Potteries for a season-long at Stoke, and he scored on his debut for the Potters in a 3-1 win against Derby County. He also recorded his first senior hat-trick for Stoke in their 5-1 demolition of Bristol City at the start of November.
And Southampton really did need his goal against Stoke. The four-point deduction that they picked up for this season gives them less room for manouevre when it comes to dropping points, if they're to realise their ambition of returning to the Premier League at the end of this season. They will have considered the points they dropped against Watford to be wasted, and they may have felt the same had they not forced in two late goals to win their game against Stoke.
But Mubama's late intervention set them on their way to a much-needed win. He may have a significant role to play if the Saints are to put last season's disastrous ending behind them and get themselves back to the Premier League.
