On the occasion of his 84th birthday, we fondly remember Ignacio 'Nacho' Sevilla, member of the historic Campeonísimo and a fundamental pillar in the construction of the glorious history of the Rojiblancos. That's why today we're looking back at some of his most memorable moments with Guadalajara.

His beginnings with Guadalajara

Trained in the youth ranks of Club Deportivo Guadalajara, 'Nacho' made his debut in the 1960-61 season. That same year, he joined the squad that would mark a golden age and usher in one of the most glorious periods in the history of the Rebaño Sagrado.

Championships with Chivas

Sevilla played as a defender and defended the Rojiblanca jersey from 1960 to 1968. During that period, he played an active role in winning four First Division titles (1960-61, 1961-62, 1963-64, and 1964-65), as well as winning the Copa México in the 1962-1963 season.

International titles

He also helped Guadalajara lift the Campeón de Campeones trophy on three occasions. One of the most memorable victories in this competition was the final against Comunicaciones of Guatemala in 1962, in which the Rebaño won 6-0 at the Jalisco Stadium, becoming the first team to be crowned champions in this tournament.
