Dodi Lukebakio could be back for Benfica sooner than first thought. The Belgian winger is progressing well after fracturing his ankle and undergoing surgery.
According to Glorioso 1904, the No. 11 has been sidelined since that injury. He is meeting each recovery stage and may soon rejoin José Mourinho’s options.
The initial target was late February, but he could be available earlier, possibly by mid next month.
If that timetable holds, it would mark a second swift comeback in quick succession for the squad. Bruma returned in under six months after rupturing his Achilles tendon. The Special One hopes to have the Belgian available very soon.
This season for Benfica, Lukebakio, valued at 20 million euros, has 11 appearances, six in Liga Portugal Betclic, three in the Champions League, one in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. He has played 835 minutes, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
