Dominic Calvert-Lewin says he will return to training this week and be ready to go, easing concern after he missed Leeds United’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Norwich ahead of Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

"Everything’s good," Calvert-Lewin said. "It was always the plan for me to take a little break of a few days after the double gameweek that we’ve just had in the Premier League. So yeah, everything’s going to plan, back in training tomorrow and ready to go." He told CBS Sports.

Calvert-Lewin was left out entirely as Daniel Farke rotated for the fifth-round tie, which Leeds won against Norwich. Farke watched from the stands while serving a touchline ban, and centre-back Joe Rodon was also rested after a recent hamstring issue.

After the match, Farke said his top scorer had minor knee trouble in recent days and did not feel ready to be involved.

If fit for Sunday, the 28-year-old is in contention to continue an impressive debut campaign at Elland Road. Signed as a free agent with a history of fitness problems, he has missed one league game through illness and none through injury since debuting off the bench at Newcastle in August.

He has 10 Premier League goals, including a burst of seven in six over winter, and nine matches remain to add to that tally. "Just consistency. I’ve been at this for a while and it’s inevitable that sometimes you hit difficult periods and good periods."
