once again showed just how valuable he is to Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The Hungarian stepped up when called upon to put the Reds 1-0 up on the stroke of half time with a genius free kick.
Arne Slot’s side have struggled to defend their Premier League title this season, but Wednesday’s win takes them a step closer to automatically qualifying for the Champions League round of 16.
On his 100th start for Liverpool, Szoboszlai showed exactly how important he is in this struggling side and supporters will hope that the 25-year-old's fine form can continue and can boost the Reds domestic form.
Slot’s side have managed to improve their results since they produced one of the worst runs of form in the club’s history late last year.

Despite the improvement in results, performances have still been lacklustre but Wednesday’s display in the south of France was a step in the right direction.
Liverpool looked solid defensively, and the link up between Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike is clearly starting to develop.
Mohamed Salah often looked a threat in his much-anticipated return to the team following the Africa Cup of Nations too.
Szoboszlai was undoubtedly the star of the show for the Reds however and, after speaking about his future earlier in the week, the Anfield faithful will hope that the Hungarian will remain in Merseyside for years to come.
Liverpool’s no.8 could easily have had an assist to go alongside his goal when Ekitike hit the woodwork 10 minutes into the second half, and it really was a complete performance from the midfielder.
Szoboszlai’s current deal runs until 2028, so the Reds aren’t under too much pressure to renew, but rumours persist of a move away.
Real Madrid and several other top European clubs are keeping an eye on the midfielder’s situation, so putting pen to paper on fresh terms would bring an end to any uncertainty surrounding the Hungarian’s future.
Everyone will be delighted with Szoboszlai’s most recent display and will hope he can deliver again against Bournemouth on Saturday.
