Donald Trump set strict conditions for receiving FIFA’s new peace prize at the World Cup 2026 draw in Washington on five December, according to The Times.

He wanted the trophy, created in his honour, to be at least as tall as the World Cup and for Marines to flank him during the presentation by FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Trump did not only receive the trophy, he was also given a FIFA certificate confirming the presentation and a medal.

The report said advisers at the White House floated the idea that Marines could also lift and keep the peace trophy. FIFA categorically refused that request.

The report added that the draw venue, originally the John F. Kennedy Center, was renamed the Trump-Kennedy Cultural Centre a few days before the ceremony for the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada, scheduled from 11 June 2026 to 19 July 2026.
