Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries has reportedly agreed to a new, long-term contract extension in San Siro, despite reports linking him with a move to Manchester United earlier in the summer.
According to multiple outlets in Italy, the Dutchman has agreed to sign an extension until the summer of 2028 after several months of negotiations.
As per Calciomercato.com, Dumfries is set to earn an increased salary of around €4m per season on his new deal. Friday’s report also adds that there will not be a release clause included in the new set of terms.
Dumfries, who had been into the final year of his previous contract, expiring in the summer of 2025, had taken his time to decide whether or not to commit his long-term future to Simone Inzaghi and Inter.
There had been reports linking Dumfries with a move to Manchester United over the summer, but a move to Old Trafford, or anywhere else for that matter, never materialised.
