Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing Dinamo Zagreb teenager Leon Jakirovic.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Croatian champions have accepted Inter’s €2.5 million bid.

Despite failing to lure Hajduk Split prodigy Branimir Mlacic to San Siro, the Nerazzurri are close to landing another Croatian talent.

Indeed, the 18-year-old’s transfer to Serie A seemed like a done deal before the player’s family pulled the plug on the move.

However, Cristian Chivu’s men will reinforce their youth sector with the arrival of Leon Jakirovic.

Like Mlacic, Jakirovic is one of Europe’s hottest prospects, even though he has yet to establish himself in Dinamo’s first team.

At 17, he has ample room for improvement and could be an exciting investment for the future.

Furthermore, in today’s inflated market, signing a talented center-back for only €2.5 million seems like a bargain.

Meanwhile, the player should join Stefano Vecchi’s U23 squad to get used to Italian football before transitioning to the senior team.
