Manchester United welcomed Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier this evening as they focused on earning a good result at home to kick off their Premier League campaign. The Red Devils made a slow start to the contest and conceded a cheap goal from a corner in the 13th minute when Riccardo Calafiori found the back of the net from close range. Man United went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Ruben Amorim’s men tried their best to find the equaliser in the second half but ended up suffering a tough 1-0 loss in front of their home supporters.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player performed during the clash against the Gunners.
He made a couple of solid saves at the back but should have done better to prevent Calafiori’s goal.
CB: Leny Yoro – 7/10
Yoro gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was a strong presence in the air.
CB: Matthijs de Ligt – 7/10
He did his fair share of defending inside his half and was a commanding presence at the back.
CB: Luke Shaw – 6.5/10
Shaw got stuck in with a few solid tackles and made one good chance going forward.
