Corinthians have moved three academy players into Dorival Júnior’s senior group during the Copinha as Paulista preparations continue. The club said on Tuesday morning that midfielder Gui Amorim, right-back João Vitor Jacaré and holding midfielder Luiz Gustavo Bahia were called up.
In turn, Dodô, Molina and Lucca Caramico returned to the under-20s for the Copinha. Caramico still trained with the seniors on Tuesday morning, having been registered but kept from travelling to Jaú by a cost-cutting decision, and was the only academy player involved.
The staff’s move comes with numbers thin at CT Joaquim Grava amid absences and unresolved contracts. Jacaré’s inclusion is notable given a shortage at right-back, with only Matheuzinho a specialist option in the senior squad.
Raniele and Memphis Depay did indoor work, missing early-week field sessions, and remain in physical recovery after a heavy end to last season. At this stage they are unlikely to be involved in the Paulistão opener. Martínez is in Venezuela over passport formalities affected by politics, while Yuri Alberto is in Italy dealing with European citizenship.
Maycon and Fabrizio Angileri are out while contract situations are unresolved. Maycon is trending towards a move to Atlético-MG, who have submitted a proposal to Shakhtar Donetsk. Angileri remains in Argentina, his return dependent on a positive outcome to renewal talks.
Players outside the immediate plans, Alex Santana, Héctor Hernández and Renato, are training individually or at separate times. The under-20s face Luverdense at 19:30 at Estádio Zezinho Magalhães in Jaú for the Group 8 lead.
The first team open the Paulista on Sunday at 16:00 against Ponte Preta at Neo Química Arena. Further academy promotions may be sought in a busy 2026, including the Supercopa do Brasil against Flamengo on 1 February at Mané Garrincha, the Brasileirão starting on 27 January against Bahia, and the Libertadores group stage in March.
