Corinthians are in advanced talks to sign Al-Hilal forward Kaio César, and Dorival said after the 1-1 draw with São Paulo that the 21-year-old is expected in the city on Tuesday for medicals and to be announced.

According to Meu Timao, the move is part of a push to add attacking depth this season.

The coach said the right winger fills a role the squad lacked, highlighting his pace and one-on-one threat, and believes those attributes could open up new in-game options.

Corinthians have seen off interest from Atlético-MG, Vasco, Grêmio and Internacional as talks accelerated in recent days.

The club had tracked Kaio since last season, but a Fifa transfer ban halted progress at the time.

Short of minutes in a star-studded Al-Hilal side, he has played 14 matches this season, six as a starter, scoring one goal with three assists. He previously featured for Coritiba and Vitória de Guimarães.

Beyond Kaio, Corinthians have already signed centre-back Gabriel Paulista and midfielder Matheus Pereira, who made his reappearance in the draw in Itaquera. Right-back Pedro Milans, present at Neo Química Arena, is another deal in the works.
