Dorival Júnior offered a cautious fitness update on several Corinthians regulars after a 3-0 defeat to Red Bull Bragantino in the Campeonato Paulista. The manager conceded he has not had a full group available at the start of the season.
The second-round tie was played on Thursday at Estádio Municipal Cícero de Souza Marques in Bragança Paulista. Corinthians named a mixed XI, with Yuri Alberto among the players introduced after the break, according to Meu Timao.
He said Yuri had returned to physical work slightly earlier than Raniele, who missed the match and is still feeling pain. Raniele had been limited across the final six games of last year, training only on the eve of matches, so the staff are holding him back.
On Memphis, he said the forward had not yet trained on the pitch. He added that, if his memory was correct, a first field session was due that day, but stressed it was still early after a long spell out.
Asked about midfielder José Martínez, who is set to return to Brazil in the coming days after roughly three weeks in Venezuela to resolve a passport issue, Dorival said he did not know whether he could use him immediately. He noted a session last week had only 14 players and that six were in the medical department between the end of 2025 and the start of 2026. He added that he is awaiting further additions to fill out the squad.
