Dortmund concerns grow over Chukwuemeka

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly growing increasingly doubtful about Carney Chukwuemeka’s prospects at the club.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, concerns around the 22-year-old’s fitness have mounted, with the outlet questioning why his physical condition has not visibly improved over the past year.

Chukwuemeka arrived from Chelsea about a year ago on loan, then Dortmund paid €20 million in the summer to make the move permanent.

In his first full season he has made 26 appearances but started only eight times, and he has not been named in the starting XI since the turn of the year.

The English midfielder is under contract with the Black and Yellows until 2030.
