Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Gio Reyna has avoided a serious injury after being forced off on Sunday.
Dortmund bounced back from their Europa League disappointment in convincing fashion, thrashing Borussia Mönchengladbach 6-0 in the Bundesliga.
However, the victory didn’t come without consequences as both Reyna and french central defender Dan-Axel Zagadou picked up injuries.
According to the club’s website, the 22-year-old defender is set to miss “several weeks” with a torn muscle fibre in his thigh.
In slightly better news, US International Reyna will “be able to take part in team training again within 14 days”.
The 19-year-old has only featured eight times for Dortmund this season having already been sidelined for five months due to a torn muscle fibre picked up in September.
