Borussia Dortmund are said to be keen to keep Gregor Kobel and explore a long-term extension amid Real Madrid interest.

AS reports that Real Madrid could move for the goalkeeper if they cannot extend Thibaut Courtois beyond the end of the season. Meanwhile, Bild claims Dortmund want to push Kobel’s deal past 2028 to ward off suitors. The same report adds Kobel is not seeking a move and believes he can challenge for titles with BVB.

The 28-year-old reportedly rejected interest from Newcastle United in the summer to remain at Signal Iduna Park.

Kobel joined Dortmund from Stuttgart in 2021 for €15 million.

He is Dortmund’s first-choice goalkeeper.
